ANNOUNCEMENT

Edited from GOV.UK guidance published on 19th March 2020:

As a country, we all need to do what we can to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus while maintaining our core services and infrastructure.

Bush Broadband/Vibre Engineers fall within the critical communication services categories below, based on business continuity arrangements, their specific role is necessary for the continuation of this essential public service.

Utilities and Communication Services

This includes staff needed for the information technology and data infrastructure sector and primary industry supplies to continue during the COVID-19 response, as well as key staff working in telecommunications (including but not limited to network operations, field engineering, call centre staff, IT and data infrastructure and services).

CRISIS SAFETY PROCEDURES

If you are due to have a site survey or an installation from us then please read our safety procedures in full. This is to ensure your safety and that of our dedicated engineering team who are prepared to work through these unprecedented circumstances to install fast broadband.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU

Please inform us prior to any appointment if you, or anyone in your household, has:

– returned from overseas within the last 14 days
– cold or flu symptoms (cough, soar throat, aching muscles, high temperature etc.)
– started self-isolating for another reason other than the Government’s directive

Unfortunately, we will need to reschedule appointments for at least 14 days, however the safety of all concerned is of utmost importance at this difficult time. As soon as the necessary isolation period is over we can complete your site survey or installation.

Please inform us of any safety requirements you may have in addition to ours.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM OUR ENGINEERS

Engineers are instructed on safety procedures as follows:

– to stay at home if they are experiencing any cold or flu symptoms (cough, soar throat, aching muscles, high temperature etc)

– to leave site immediately and return home should they start to experience any cold or flu symptoms before, during and after arriving on site

– for the health and safety of everybody, all engineers will be wearing gloves and masks, subject to availability, upon arrival and until they exit the site

– to keep a much distance as possible during the site visit. If conversations are required between the customer and the engineer, we would prefer if this was possible from behind a window (slightly ajar if required for hearing). We would prefer customers to remain in a separate room from the engineer at all times.

– to spend as little time as is justifiably necessary inside your property and will minimise contact with your belongings

– respect the wishes of the customer, in relation to safety precautions, at all times

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM US

– The majority of the work required for a site survey or installation is performed outside. A site survey is unlikely to require any access to the inside of your property, whereas an installation should require no longer than 30 minutes inside. You do not need to be in the same room at any time, in fact we would prefer it

– Upon arrival at your property the engineer will knock on your door and move to away from the door until you respond. Please identikits identify a window that is comfortable for you to communicate together and move to that location

– To further communicate the engineer will attract your attention by knocking on the door again and moving to the nominated communications window

– During an installation the engineer will require a short period inside your property as described above

– Upon completion of an installation the engineer will show you the login details from behind the communications window and allow you a moment to login and check the download and upload speeds for yourself

– These speeds will be recorded on a completion form filled out on site by the engineer. We will not ask you to sign this on site but will instead email a PDF version immediately after the installation is complete for you to sign and scan or photograph a copy back to us. This will help to reduce potential contact risk between you and our engineers

– If your appointment is for a site survey then we will email the results once the visit is complete

We would like to thank you in advance for your assistance and understanding in carrying out these safety requirements during our interactions together and we will do our best to get everybody connected. If you have any concerns then please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss further solutions.
